Viewing this painting reminds me of the hands that cut and placed each patch and then pieced them all together in a gorgeous quilt. An intricate pattern, the quilt represents the work of a true artisan, someone who cared about each stitch. With just as much attention to detail, this painting was carefully created, each part of the quilt meticulously added color by color and patch by patch. The table is laden with the fine work of a glassblower, another testimony to the work of a master's hands. It is fitting that light flows in, grazing the tucks and turns of the quilt top and ultimately bathing the glass in showers of light.
