Description:

"In From the Sea" is a wonderful mixed media creation designed by using many types of paints and textures. The colors are rich and lush and there is a definite three-dimensional feel to the piece. The viewer can imagine him/herself looking out over the beach, smelling the salty air, and feeling the mist of a sea that is driving the boats up onto the shore. It is as if the sea is forcing those things made by humans out of nature's dominion. Wave after wave pushes the vessels in to safety as they undulate and roar. The boat on the far right is the last to arrive, lowered from the crest of the wave. You can feel the motion as it slides into place next to the others. Then the littlest boat is safe too.
