„Medieval Village of Peratallada (Catalonia) “

from the gallery of Marc Garrido Clotet
Description:

This photo is from Peratallada, a medieval village in the Girona province, in Catalonia. It looks like little has changed in the urban morphology since medieval times; It is a pleasure to walk around the cobbled. As a curiosity, the name of the city is derived from “Pedra tallada”, meaning ‘carved stone.’ Almost all the buildings were built with stone carved from the fosse which still encircles parts of this small fortified town. Do you like medieval towns? Do not miss this one!
