„Pear and Pineapple“

from the gallery of eloiseart
Description:

A plump pear cozies up to a fine looking pineapple, fronted on the right by a ripe cut from a smaller tropical fruit. The painting is rich both in color and texture,as an impasto technique was used to apply the paint with a palette knife, adding depth with layers. The impasto technique dates back to centuries when oil painters applied layers of paint and waited months for them to dry before applying the next color. Although modern science allows today's artist to work with acrylics and oils that dry faster than those of times past, the technique is still time-consuming but well worth it when you appreciate the depth and contour that is added by the applications. The honey-colored tones in the painting make a nice contrast to the bold fronds of the pineapple. A very nice fine art rendition. Would be lovely in a waiting room, business meeting or conference room, restaurant, or personal home.
