Place des Vosges, Paris. This is the oldest planned square in Paris, with uniform houses lining a large central park. It was built by Henry IV in 1612. Victor Hugo was one of the famous residents of the square, and there is now a museum in the townhouse where he lived. One of the fountains in the square.
