Surfers and tourists gather around he Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse in Santa Cruz, California, built in 1967, in memory of surfer Mark Abbott, "who died while surfing at the nearby Pleasure Point surf break" (Wikipedia). It houses the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, which opened in 1986.
