„The Oxford Canal At Thrupp“

from the gallery of Ian Lewis
Description:

Narrow boats moored along the banks of the Oxford Canal as it passes through Thrupp in Oxfordshire on its way to Oxford and the River Thames. This is strictly a hamlet rather than a village as there is no parish church. Off the main Banbury road, Thrupp is clustered along the banks of the canal but the road goes no further - just makes its way over a swing bridge to a car park and tearooms. Th Oxford canal was completed in 1788, joining the Coventry Canal with the River Thames and so to London.
