Description:

Ceiling in the basement of La Conciergerie, a royal castle turned prison during the French Revolution. This basement is the site of the tribunals which tried and convicted many French royals, including Marie Antoinette. The arched ceiling is immense and awe-inspiring. From this location the convicted were sent to the guillotine.
